Newbie with a question? Do you need a micro sd card reader/writer adapter to transfer file from lap top to Micro Sd card

I have a Maylong tablet and I want to transfer files from my pc to my tablet. How do you get the information onto the micro sd card from your computer? Do I need to get a micro sd card reader/writer adapter to do this? Thanks!
